Hello Everyone. I
will send out emails shortly for this coming Friday and Saturday but wanted to
get everyone thinking about the end of season events, the Divisionals Dinner
(held on Friday, July 20th) and our end of season banquet (normally
held on Sat. night after the Divisionals meet).
Divisionals Dinner – This
dinner is held at someone’s house and is open to all swimmers. We will ask each age group to bring certain
items for dinner (appetizers, dinner, dessert, drinks, etc..) and have a chance
to spend some time together away from the pool.
I need a family or two to manage this event and a family who would be
willing to host the dinner. We will need
a headcount of attendees no later than 5pm on Wed., July 18th so we
can the right amount of food and drinks.
End of Season Banquet – For
many years, this was held at the pool, with the team having some time to bring
rafts to the pool and then dinner is served and the awards are presented. Last year, due to the extreme heat, we held
the dinner at St. Jude’s church hall and I’d like to do so again as the long
range weather forecast shows mid-90s temps next week. Unfortunately, there is
an event already scheduled for the evening of the 21st. Therefore, my initial thoughts are to have the
banquet on Monday night, July 23rd, with kids being able to raft at the
pool afterwards. I am open to other
suggestions (we can certainly hold the event on Saturday the 21st at
the pool!) on what we should do.
